brad pitt & kiehl’s team up

Who ever would have guessed I’d be writing about Brad Pitt in this blog? Not me! But the mega Hollywood star has teamed up with Kiehl’s to promote their new Aloe Vera Biodegradable Body Cleanser, which will be available in October.

The cleanser is cradle-to-cradle certified, free of parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate*, sodium laureth sulfate* and dyes and comes in a 100% food-grade, post-consumer recycled bottle.

100% of the net profits from the sales will go to JPF Eco Systems, which was founded with Pitt and which supports global environmental initiatives, including Make it Right, a charity which is currently helping to fund construction of environmentally sustainable, affordable housing in New Orleans for the displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina. Pitt is seen above touring New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina.

*Sodium laureth sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate are detergents and surfactants found in personal care products such as soap, toothpaste shampoo, cleansers and bubble baths. They’re most commonly used in these products as a foaming agent and can irritate skin.

Available at: Kiehl’s in October; www.kiehls.com

  3. Dear Natural Chic,

I know that you receive hundreds of email each day but I was hoping that you may take a moment to please read mine and take a look at what I create? I am a (green) Artist from the Cleveland, Ohio area that works creating some really fantastic sculpture from an obscure source…recycled corrugated boxes as an art medium. I know most people think the majority of recycled art as “junky” in visual appeal and to some degree that is true. However, my art work is quite the opposite being aesthetically beautiful, precise, unique and intriguing. I only ask that if you could spare a few moments to please take a look at what I do? I’d like to send to you a few jpg pictures of my art to look at if you would kindly provide me an email path to do so. In the mean time if you would be so inclined you may visit the web sites I have listed below to get an idea of what it is about.

I thank you in advance for this consideration and know you’ll be blown away by what I create with a box! My hopes in that you find it interesting and may desire to contact me for inclusion your magazine in print or on line. I am serious about my Art and have worked with this recyclable material for over five years having received commissioned work for some prominent businesses you’d be familiar with. If you would like to see add’l work or have any questions please let me know.
