I've lived in my current home for almost a year and I've paid little attention to decorating my bedroom. It's very simple with a basic bed, wooden dresser and nightstand – that's all. I'd like to add a hefty dose of style and personality to the space, including colourful accessories (I like indigo and navy) and exotic, global touches. I also want a collected and cozy feel with artwork, books on my nightstand and industrial-style reading lamps. Here's what I'd like to add: 1. I love this dresser from IKEA with its wooden frame and high-gloss white drawers. It's modern, but still warm. 2. Vibrant blue toss cushions from Indigo would add a nice pop against my white bed linens. 3. I already have this print and another from Elizabeth Mayville – they're a welcome feminine touch in an otherwise tomboyish space. 4. Awesome wall-mount task lamp from IKEA for reading books in bed. 5. This storage basket from Serena & Lily is handmade by artisans in Africa. It has the worldly, exotic vibe I'm after. I'd like a couple for storing extra bed linens, laundry, etc. 6. A wool dhurrie from the Steven Alan and West Elm collaboration will add texture and warmth.
