The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to resolve to make changes around the house. Here at Style at Home, we have our own list of promises we plan to keep when it comes to our homes. Check out our around-the-house resolutions for the year. Plus, we asked our Facebook readers for their at-home resolutions and here's what they had to say: Last year we hired an organizer (best money spent ever!) and this year we are focusing on decor and treating ourselves by hiring a designer to help bring our vision for the new home to fruition. - Crystal The big one this year is to repaint the kitchen cabinets! We moved in 2 years ago and it was THE first thing I wanted completed ... needless to say, it has yet to be done! This year!!! - Becky We bought our home late 2011. It's a beautiful home with so much potential. The couple that owned it before had no fashion sense and made the house look old. This year we would like to bring the house back into this century with modern funky paint colours and change old light fixtures. We want this house to go from "oh nice" to "wow". - Lyne New rugs! - Celadon Collection On the decor side: add more art to my house, especially in my bedroom. On the home keeping side: to pick up at least one item every day and put it in its place rather than just letting things clutter up until the weekend and spending hours picking things up and putting them where they belong. We built the house 6 years ago and that has been my project for 6 years ... almost done. Laminate or carpet ?????? - Nadia Mine is to reduce the amount of paper that accumulates in my life.
