Once upon a time not only floors and windows sparkled, but doors did, too. Antique glass doorknobs usually have six, eight or 12 facets and a flat top so the pattern at the base is visible. Many modern versions are made from lead crystal, and appear clear, not as ‘watery’ as the originals.
