I've noticed them used in a few of Style at Home's featured interiors, adding texture and a global vibe to the spaces they adorn.   Moroccan Wedding blankets, or handira, are handwoven by Berber women (relatives of the bride) out of wool, cotton and linen, and embellished with sequins. The bride is presented with the blanket after the wedding ceremony – it is said to ward off evil spirits and promote fertility.   Handira are mostly neutral in colour, however, it's the colourful bands of kilim patterns and sequins that make them so beautiful and unique. In Moroccan homes, they're traditionally used as bedding, and in the warmer months they can be hung on the wall as a decoration or used as a rug.
