wall-to-wall carpet: gorgeous or gross?
When it comes to wall-to-wall carpet, there are two camps of people: those who love it and those who hate it. For the longest time, I was firmly planted in the 'hate it' category, always choosing
hardwood floors over broadloom. But these days, my position is starting to waiver. I'm still not entirely sold on carpet. There's no denying that it gets dirty, dingy and dusty and after a while, it just stops feeling clean, regardless of how diligently you vacuum and shampoo it. But on the flip side, carpets have come a long way since the '80s and with shorter, tigher piles, it's a bit easier to keep them clean. Plus, there are fabulous colours and patterns out there that can really make a room pop, making the carpet the focal point of a room. Luxury hotels have really inspired a renewed interest in wall-to-wall carpet. Here are a few examples of gorgeous hotel rooms with luxurious carpet underfoot:
