Make Your Room Feel Bigger Without Any Demo

No need to tear down walls to maximize a small space. Sometimes you just need to be creative to make the room appear larger.

The trick? Colour drenching.

It literally involves drenching—or rather, painting— an entire room in the same colour. We're talking about walls, moldings, doors, and even the ceiling. Bold? Certainly. Effective? Oh, yeah!

By painting everything in the same shade, you create visual continuity, which makes a room appear larger than it really is. This technique also allows you to hide or camouflage certain decor or design elements you may not like in a room.

For example, if your living room has tons of doors, painting them all (including the door frames) in the same colour as the walls stops your eye from automatically being drawn to them.

Colour drenching is an easy way to add character to a room. Although we love it for expanding a small space,  you can use the trendy paint technique anywhere for an instant modern look.
