As a form of creative release, Stephanie Sterjovski's success began simply as an online outlet with her self-titled blog, Stephanie Sterjovski: Life & Style. From there, she has since launched her own online shop, SS Print Shop, featuring her own prints after receiving requests to sell them. Now you can see Stephanie's work in fashion shops as decorative displays, around the blogging community, and Chapters-Indigo. Find out what drives this talented woman that lives in a colourful world accented in gold foil.

1 What motivated you to start your blog/shop?
Stephanie Sterjovski Reading magazines from a very young age always inspired me to open my own platform one day, and be able to curate and share my own interests. My shop, SS Print Shop, quickly became an extension of my blog, as I used to post expressions every week in creative ways and received a few emails asking if I sold them. The rest is history.
2 If you could shadow any designer for a day, who would it be?
SS I’d love just one day in Jenna Lyons’ office – she has designed the most colourful life and brand.
3 Where do you look for an obscure source of inspiration?
SS Old magazines and films – I’m really obsessed with the 50’s and 60’s era.
4 Favourite restaurant?
SS Indian is my favourite cuisine and Ambiyan does butter chicken like no other.

5 What’s your favourite room to decorate?
SS My studio/ home office. Any treasure I find ends up going in there. It is where I create and feel most inspired, so adding to that room is strictly visionary. I also let myself have the most fun in that room with colours, prints, etc. I just want my work to be a celebration!
6 What’s your current paint colour obsession?
SS Benjamin Moore’s Romantic Pink. The shade is exactly as the name describes, I think if you were to do a pink room, this would be the shade you could get away with.
7 If one song could be the soundtrack to your life, what would it be?
SS Stay and Wait by Hillsong United. My life is devoted to adoring Christ and this song is such a beautiful reflection of that.
8 What’s the one store you could spend hours browsing?
SS I could kill some serious clock time in Anthropologie. They’ve curated the perfect selection of everything I love: stationery, home decor, fashion, accessories and great books.

9 London, Paris or New York?
SS Paris. I have never been, but I know it would be fabulous.
10 If money were no object, what one thing would you buy?
SS I mean, let’s go big here and say a yacht in St.Tropez, because, why not?
11 Favourite movie?
SS Sabrina. There’s nothing quite like a good black and white Audrey Hepburn film.
12 What’s your favourite movie interior?
SS I love production designer Jon Hutman’s work. I could be perfectly content living in Meryl Streep’s home and bakery in It’s Complicated. What a dream!

13 What do you think is the easiest way to update a room?
SS I am going to be biased here and say art prints. They are such an affordable and easy way to switch out each season and keep your place feeling updated.
14 Best coffee table book?
SS Kate Spade’s Favorite Things - it is a colour explosion and leaves me inspired every time I go through it.
15 What’s your favourite way to spend a lazy Sunday?
SS Waking up, going to church, picking up fresh flowers for the week, then coming home and cuddling my husky. Sundays slow me down, and encourage me to be the most present, with the ones I love.
16 Do you like to be the entertainer or be entertained?
SS I love the planning that goes in to entertaining (it’s the best part in my humble opinion). Just creating little details that will put a smile on someone’s face is exhilarating to me.

17 What do you think is the best renovation you can do to your home?
SS White marble countertops and, if you can go one step further, an all-white kitchen. It is so inviting, fresh and clean, and your food really stands out while you cook. Everyone needs a white kitchen!
18 What is your favourite space that you’ve designed?
SS I am a graphic designer, but I loved offering my input for my studio/office to my stylist and friend, Tiffany Pratt. She helped me bring the vision to life, and anything I had dreamed up, she took it up 10 levels. Especially the custom wall installation of life size confetti, it’s the conversation piece of that space.
19 What’s the biggest design faux pas?
SS Being so on trend that it has already been seen and done far too many times. Stick to who you really are and your design will always be classic (you)!
20 Marilyn, Audrey or Jackie?
SS Audrey. Every time.
