What are your plans for Thanksgiving? There's always a big turkey dinner with all the fixings (and
pie, of course), but do you serve hors d'oeuvres, too? Since a lot of the prep and cooking efforts go into the meal itself, it's best to keep appetizers simple. Cheese and charcuterie boards are a crowd favourite, and the best part is once you assemble the board, guests can help themselves. Here are six amazing boards to set your snacks on, plus ideas for what to serve on each.
The large walnut board from
Butternut Brooklyn looks incredibly smooth with its rounded edges. Serve a wedge of semisoft cheese with French baguette. Include a fruit preserve to complement your cheese selection.
This medium walnut 5.4.2 block/bowl from
On Our Table is a serving block and bowl (when you turn it over). Present your favourite cured meats and a sharp knife, allowing your adult guests to help themselves.
This round board from
Indigo is a striking mix of white marble and mango wood. Keep your cheese selection simple: one soft ripened cheese (like Camembert), one semisoft (such as Manchego) and one firm (a sharp aged Cheddar). Serve with a cluster of grapes.
The 16-inch maple paté board from
Stinson Studios is perfectly rustic for your fall feast. Here it's composed of lox, chevre, capers and herbs.
The Brooklyn Slate Cheese Board from
Williams-Sonoma is ideal for a small gathering. Serve a couple wedges of cheese, some spiced almonds or walnuts and a small bowl of olives.
The feast Platter from
Crate and Barrel can hold a plenty, but take care not to crowd the plate – choose just a couple cheeses, some cured meat, fresh figs and artisanal crackers. Which cheese board would you choose? Let me know in the comments below, or on Twitter, I'm
