five reasons you need a sodastream this season
Bubbles seem to make everything more festive, so it’s no surprise that I’ve ranked my
SodaStream among my most important holiday entertaining appliances. I mean, ALL it takes is tap water and the touch of a button to get glorious carbonation in each and every bevvy. [caption id="attachment_18834" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="the sleek sodastream comes in several fun colours"]

1 It eases bar-area clutter. Instead of having a selection of juices, pops and mixes on offer for my next gathering, all I need is this sleek machine and the syrup packets to make any flavour. (I mean, they just released a Ocean Spray collection – what more could you ask for!? [caption id="attachment_18833" align="aligncenter" width="460" caption="the sodastream takes up such little counter space!"]

2 It reduces your calorie count. Not only do the syrups generally have fewer calories than the rest of the beverages, but you have control of just how much syrup you’re putting into each drink, making it easier to keep things low-cal.
3 You can actually use it for your holiday meals, too! At a recent SodaStream luncheon, celebrity chef Susur Lee used SodaStream’s carbonated soda to tenderize the pork loin he served. (And trust me, it was tender!) [caption id="attachment_18831" align="aligncenter" width="450" caption="here is chef lee's ah-ma-zing pork tenderloin tenderized with soda!"]

4 It makes cleanup a cinch! How much does your recycling bin overflow after a big shindig? With one carbonating canister (that can carbonate up to 60 litres!) and reusable bottles, you’ll never run out of mix OR room in your recycling bin. I say that’s win-win!
5 We have three amazing recipes crafted by Kai Bent-Lee (son of chef Susur Lee and co-owner of
Bent restaurant in Toronto) that will be sure to impress your guests. [caption id="attachment_18832" align="aligncenter" width="450" caption="here's kai making basil-yuzu mojitos. delish!"]

Check back tomorrow for the first of Kai’s three recipes we have to share (hint: it's photographed above).
