Tabletop
An icon of midcentury Scandinavian design, Finnish designer Eero Saarinen created furniture that had a sculptural quality to it. His landmark pedestal table has a cast-aluminum base inspired by a drop of high-viscosity liquid. Designed in 1956, the table continues to be manufactured by Knoll in Italy according to the original specs, with tops available in marble, veneer and laminate, both our high and low tables resemble this modern classic, right down to the tabletop options.
Taper candles
Longing to cosy up to a crackling fire Christmas morn? Turn off that televised yule log and get the warmth of a fire sans hearth. "A collection of candles creates the same glowing atmosphere that a wood-burning fireplace would," says stylist Carolyn Souch. Groupings of candlesticks in different materials and heights, like the curvaceous creamy porcelain and gleaming metal ones used in our high set, also make a stunning vignette.

 

Wreath
For a mod Scandi take on the trad wreath, Carolyn chose a classic shape and material, but went bold with black paint. "The dark shade brings your eye up to the mantel, the focal point," she says. Plus, it enhances the room's modern vibe.
