CREATE A ROOM LIKE THESE NO MATTER YOUR BUDGET WITH A FEW KEY TIPS:
2. Choose a koi-patterned shower curtain
A custom-made shower curtain is a luxury, no doubt about that, but if there’s a better way to use these stylized koi-patterned fabrics in the home, we don’t know what it is. Koi have long been strong symbols in Chinese and Japanese cultures, synonymous with courage, harmony and happiness. The muted shades in the fabrics we’ve used add texture and movement to our set-up.
3. Go for a modern faucet
If the thought of choosing a faucet has you turning on the proverbial waterworks, you’re not alone. Deck or wall-mounted? Mixer or pillar? Traditional or current? The possibilities are endless. Our High and Low bathrooms are sleek and contemporary, so we chose modern taps to match. The High has unique ribbon styling and the Low features a minimal all-in-one aesthetic for a look that won’t leave you with that sinking feeling.
4. Paint window frames a dark hue
Take window mullions a sophisticated step beyond on-trend classic black by painting them a rich shade of charcoal, ink or navy.
5. Add some greenery
The typical bathroom features low amounts of natural light, warm temperatures and high humidity, which spell bliss for houseplants that are native to tropical rainforest environments. If you like the thought of adding flora to your loo, start with easy-care species like orchids, ferns, spider plants and peperomia – their natural beauty will offer a thriving verdant pick-me-up to your space.
