For a few weeks of the year (if we’re lucky!), we can take advantage of the freshest morels, fiddleheads and ramps before they disappear. Here, we’re complementing their delicate earthy taste with ingredients that enhance, not overpower, and then dressing up the decor accordingly, with muted shades of blush and flax to set it all off with a sweet sense of sophistication. If morels, fiddleheads and ramps aren't available, go for similar options in like shapes and colours.

THE SETTING

Prop stylist Lara McGraw (who also created this soothing guest room) has the best eye in the business for the perfect pieces to set the table. She chose a muted palette of delicate pink, earthy grey-brown and champagne shades to bridge the gap between cozy winter textures and the fresh appeal of a vibrant season approaching. Use nubbly fabrics like linen and burlap with a set of matte dishes and botanically themed touches in wallpaper patterns and centrepieces.
