Nutella lovers, grab your spoons and unite in panic! Hazardous growing conditions in Turkey this year are threatening the supply of this chocolatey treat. Thanks to frost and hail storms in Turkey, who controls 70% of the global hazelnut supply, the price of Nutella is expected to rise in the face of a looming shortage. Think we can at least take comfort in our own home grown crop? Sadly, even Canadians aren't safe from hazelnut deficiencies. A fungus known as Eastern Filbert Blight (EFB) has spread through British Columbia's crop and taking out our local supply.
