Before and After: A Two-Person Office
Designer Jean Stephane Beauchamp designed a functional and organized home office space, much to the delight of the owners!
Melissa is a business lawyer and founder of a law firm, while her husband is an accountant by training and has been self-employed since 2018. They already have two lovely young daughters and are expecting their third child this fall.
Melissa would like to be able to work from home during her maternity leave, which will begin in the next few months. However, their office room, located in the basement, suffers from a great lack of organization and is not at all to their liking. They asked Jean Stéphane Beauchamp for help to make the place more aesthetic and practical...
Mission accomplished!

Transformation Process:
■ The designer was inspired by the colours in the couple's kitchen to determine an appropriate palette for the job. To a navy hue, used on the bottom of the walls, he married a very pale blue, which covers the top of the walls and the ceiling. The result: the room is bright and soothing to the eyes.
■ Jean Stéphane chose furniture with clean lines that give the place a contemporary look. The L-shaped desks, arranged back to back, cleverly divide the space and make working hours pleasant for the owners. Especially since they each have a new comfortable and ergonomic chair.
■ The original room was cluttered and impractical, with only shelves to store items and documents. Shelves with open and closed storage, then lined with boxes and magazine racks now organize office materials while hiding them from view for a consistently neat and tidy look.
■ To keep the work surfaces clutter-free, the designer chose sconces as desk lamps. They provide effective lighting and add a decorative touch.
■ The final details are the carpet, which increases comfort and makes the atmosphere more subdued, and the abstract painting, a welcome artistic touch that personalizes the decor.
