Supplies

  • Cylindrical cans of different sizes
  • Can opener
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Rolled cork
  • Glue gun
  • Drill
  • 1/2" thick wooden board
  • Hand saw
  • Paintbrush
  • Paint
  • 1/4" wood screws
  • Picture hanger

1 Remove the tops and bottoms of the cans, ensuring that the edges are smooth and the insides are clean.

2 Measure the cans and cut strips of cork to fit around each one, leaving a little extra on each end so no tin is visible; hot glue the cork pieces to the cans.

3 Drill a small hole into the back centre of each can.

4 Arrange your cans in the desired order on the board and cut the board to size.

5 Starting at the top of the board with your first can, place the hole against the board. Screw the can to the board from the inside of the can. Repeat with the other cans.

6 Use a picture hanger to secure the completed document holder to the wall.
