Learn how to make this brightly coloured striped table using duct tape.

Managing editor and resident crafter Catherine Therrien took a toolbox essential – duct tape – and applied it to the surface of a table in a varied stripe pattern using a vibrant colour scheme of white, orange, pink and red.

Materials

• Duct tape
• Table
• Scissors
• Custom piece of glass

Instructions
1 This is a two-person job. While each person holds an end, apply your first piece of tape to the centre of the table, allowing about three inches on either end to wrap under the table’s surface. Smooth out any air bubbles.

2 Working from the centre out, overlap each strip by ¼ inch. To get a smaller width, overlap the strips by half.

3 Place a piece of finished glass on top to protect the surface.
