DIY project: Fabric wrapped holiday wreaths
Pressed for time but still want to decorate your walls with some some
festive decor? Then try one of these easy-to-make wrapped
holiday wreaths.
Ribbon wreath
Materials
Instructions
1 Secure one end of the white ribbon to the back of the ring with fabric glue. Then wrap it around the entire ring, overlapping the edges slightly for full coverage. Glue the other end to the back of the ring.
2 Wrap the other decorative ribbons around the ring, one at a time, spacing them as desired and securing the ends with fabric glue.
Felt wreath
Materials
Instructions
1 Using scissors, cut the felt into 2"-wide by 8"-long strips. You’ll need 42 felt strips in total (we did 13 white, 13 red, 9 burgundy and 7 tan).
2 Wrap a felt strip around the ring and secure the ends together at the back with fabric glue. Repeat this process, randomly alternating colours and overlapping the felt strips at different widths for a varied effect.
3 For the festive faux flower, cut out 3 leafshaped pieces of felt and glue directly to the wreath. Then cut out 3 thin felt strips in a contrasting colour and roll each into a spiral; glue in the centre of the leaves.
Cotton quilting fabric
Materials
Instructions
1 Using scissors, cut each patterned fabric into five 2" wide by 20" long pieces.
2 Wrap a fabric piece twice around the ring and double knot in the back. Repeat this process, alternating fabrics and overlapping the edges slightly for full coverage.
