DIY project: Marble magic
Let’s face it: As much as we love that luxe marble look, we can’t all afford it. But if we’ve learned anything here at Style at Home, it’s that there’s always a way to get what you want on a budget using three handy initials: DIY.
Materials
- Marble-look contact paper
- Coffee table
- Pencil
- Scissors
Directions
1 Roll out the contact paper and place it right side down on a flat surface.
2 Remove the top of the coffee table, and lay it directly on the contact paper. If you’re unable to remove the tabletop, carefully flip the whole coffee table over onto the paper.
3 Using a pencil, trace the circumference of the tabletop onto the paper, then remove the tabletop.
4 Use scissors to carefully cut along the pencil line.
5 Starting at one end of the table, peel off a few inches of the contact paper backing and carefully stick the paper to the table. Continue the application, gradually peeling, sticking and smoothing it out as you go to avoid any wrinkles and air bubbles.
