Materials
- Demi-lune top or pine board
- Router
- Corbel
- Wood glue
- Drill
- Screws
- Wood filler
- Sandpaper
- Primer
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- L-brackets
- Wall anchors
Instructions
1 If you’re cutting a new top from the pine board, use a router to create a decorative edge.
2 To attach the top to the corbel, apply wood glue, then drill and screw through the tabletop and into the short end of the corbel, countersinking the screws. We used three screws, each positioned one-quarter inch off the centre of the tabletop, evenly spaced along the depth.
3 Fill the screw holes with wood filler.
4 Once it’s dry, sand and prime the shelf, then apply two coats of paint (we used Farrow & Ball’s Pointing).
5 To hang the piece, screw two L-brackets to the bottom of the shelf, then screw them into the wall, using wall anchors for extra support.
