8 tips for an organized and practical bathroom
The bathroom is certainly an overlooked room in the home.
While we may spend hours relaxing in the bath or taking a hot shower at the end of a long day, this room often gets overrun by junk on busy weekday mornings.
Here are 8 tips to keep your bathroom organized all week long.
1. SORT AND DISPOSE OF OLD PRODUCTS
First and foremost, you need to sort through your products. Beauty products usually last for about 6 months. After that, it's time to get rid of them. Your bathroom will look much cleaner afterwards.
2. ORGANIZE PRODUCTS INTO CATEGORIES
Hair products in one corner, brushes and make-up in another... Categorizing your products will help you find them more easily and, above all, avoid having to buy new ones if you can't find them.
3. INSTALL ADDITIONAL STORAGE
A good way to have a tidy bathroom is obviously to install more storage. A shelf above the door for storing products or a new cupboard next to your sink can make life much easier.
4. OPT FOR A MEDICINE CABINET RATHER THAN A MIRROR
To optimize space, a medicine cabinet is a better investment than a simple mirror. You'll be able to store all your beauty products, make-up, and medication.
5. INSERT DIVIDERS IN YOUR VANITY DRAWERS
Take a page out of Marie Kondo’s book and install small transparent storage boxes in your drawers. This way, you can easily categorize your hair products or accessories.
6. USE HOOKS
When in doubt, install hooks behind your door or inside your bathroom cabinet. You'll be able to hang your towels or accessories that might otherwise get lost in the clutter.
7. MAKE YOUR EVERYDAY PRODUCTS ACCESSIBLE
Toothpaste, face cream, and all the other essentials in your routine need to be within easy reach. So you don't have to empty your drawer or your entire medicine cabinet to get to them.
8. CREATE STORAGE SPACE FOR STYLING APPLIANCES
Wires from styling appliances can often be cumbersome once in the vanity. It's best to store them in baskets.
