DIY gift wrap: Snowflakes
Create your own pretty snowflake wrapping paper inspired by one of our favourite of-the-moment wallpaper designs.
Materials
- White kraft paper
- Painter’s tape
- Acrylic paint in light blue
- Container
- Paint tray
- Scissors
- White card stock
- Sponge roller
Directions
1 Lay a long piece of kraft paper horizontally on a flat surface. Tape down the edges using painter’s tape.
2 Water down some paint in the container to make a thinner consistency; pour the diluted paint into the paint tray.
3 Using scissors, cut a snowflake pattern from the card stock.
4 Place the snowflake stencil in the top left-hand corner of the kraft paper, and hold it down with one hand.
5 With the other hand, roll the sponge roller in the paint and paint over the stencil; carefully peel off the stencil.
6 Place the stencil 6" directly below the first and paint over the stencil again.
7 Continue this process until you reach the bottom of the paper, painting any remaining white space as you go.
8 For the second column, stagger the placement of the stencil to create a checkerboard pattern. Repeat until the whole sheet of paper is covered.
9 Let dry before wrapping.
