How to: Make cookbook covers
Materials
- Ruler
- Pencil
- 1 roll brown kraft paper
- Scissors
- 5 cookbooks
- Letter stickers
Directions
1 Using a ruler and a pencil, measure a piece of paper big enough to wrap around the closed book, adding 2" on all sides; then trim down to size. Mark the 2" allowance.
2 Place the ruler along the top mark and fold the paper against it to make a crease. Remove the ruler and press firmly along the crease to make a sharp, even edge. Repeat on the bottom and then on both sides.
3 Place the book on the folded paper and slide the back cover into the formed sleeve. Wrap the paper along the front of the book, open the cover and slide it into the other formed sleeve. Repeat.
4 Using a pencil, lightly mark the placement for the two rows of letters on the spines, taking into account the height of the letter stickers. This will act as a guideline to keep the letters level. Stick each letter on the centre of each spine.
