Step inside this luxurious sub-penthouse on the 11th floor of the prestigious Sussex condominium in Lowertown and you're immediately transported to another world. Large temple-style front doors, furniture and intricate wooden details are just some of the elements in the home that help represent Alanis's passion for Asian-inspired decor and design.
Although the kitchen is open to the living and dining area, a spacious island allows for lots of extra room for cooking and entertaining.
A raised platform was installed in a section of the home's dining area to create a Japanese-inspired meditation space for relaxation.
Wall-to-wall windows help create the perfect backdrop while dining. We can only image sitting at this dining table watching the sun set or a lightning storm.
The open-concept kitchen, living and dining area help bring lots of light into the space.
A balcony off the living and dining area is a great spot to sit and enjoy the gorgeous views of beautiful downtown Ottawa.
Installed in each room, pocket doors allow for more space or more privacy. Pieces of the doors were shipped from Asia during the renovation process. A small office area separates the master bedroom from the living area.
In the master bedroom a traditional headboard was replaced with a Moroccan-inspired wall cutout. The platform makes for an even better view of the city from the comfort of your own bed.
The master ensuite features a vintage clawfoot tub and walk-in shower that doubles as a steam room. With lots of storage space and a double sink vanity it's easy to keep things neat and tidy.
