9 Ways To Make Your Living Room Extra Cozy
Looking for ways to elevate your living room? Get inspired by these cozy spaces.
As the days get shorter and the evenings get colder, there's nothing we want to do more than just cozy up in our living room with a warm drink and a good book (or show).
We've put together a list of some of our favourite ways to make your living room extra cozy, so it'll keep you nice and warm all winter long.
Use a fluffy rug
Floors tend to get chilly in the wintertime, so putting up a lush, fluffy rug will protect your feet and feel amazing to walk on. It'll also add an extra dimension of comfort.
Add whimsy
Stray away from boring decorations by adding whimsical art and accents. We especially love the fun cushions in this living room!
Play with textures
Fabrics play a big part in the changing of seasons. While lighter textures such as silks and linens are great for the summer, in the winter it's time to embrace velvets and knits.
Add plants
Create the illusion of a tropical paradise by adding as much greenery as you want (and can remember to water). On top of bringing life to your living room, plants are also great for air purity.
Showcase your books
Nothing says winter like cozying up with a book (rereading Wuthering Heights for the fifth time, anyone?). Showcase your books on shelves or stack them up on tables. Don't put away your old books either; they add character and tell a story.
Use warm lighting
Warm ambient lighting creates a cozy atmosphere and adds dimension to your living room. Opt for several lamps instead of using a harsh ceiling light.
Throw some throws
Throws and blankets are an easy way to make your room feel extra cozy. Plus, you can wear it over your shoulders as if you're taking your couch with you.
Invest in art
There's something so fun about a home that showcases art pieces such as photographs, sculptures and paintings. Wall art is a great way to make your living room appear cozier and warmer. If you don't have the budget to invest in original pieces, try buying some fun prints and putting them in cute frames!
Take a trip to the flea market
We love combining the old and the new! Add vintage elements to your living room such as record players, old radios or vintage furniture.
