House tour: Scandinavian country style
White entryway
The front hallway, awash in one shade of white, is panelled from the ceiling to the walls to the floor, which homeowner Anna Truelsen and her husband sanded themselves. Black accents ground the space. "It's one of my favorite colours because it's stylish and adds weight to a white interior," she says.
Kitchen table
At the kitchen table, you'll find the classic calling cards of Scandi-country style: a vintage barn pendant light; mix-and-match seating (from the Mid-Century Modern-style chairs to the plain white farmhouse-look ones); and, atop the table, a casual arrangement of glass vessels in varying heights. The addition of of a few fresh floral sprigs makes a stand-out centrepiece that looks totally serendipitous
Tall kitchen cabinet
Anna's grandfather used old windows as doors to create the kitchen's tall cabinet, which stores the family's favourite china. Free of knick-knacks and fussy arrangements, the display is approachable yet still beautiful. The cabinet's oversized industrial casters add edge.
