1. The Royal Portuguese Reading Room, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The Royal Portuguese Reading Room, or Real Gabinete Português de Leitura, is a stunning example of Gothic-Renaissance architecture. Built in the late 19th century, this library houses the largest collection of Portuguese literature outside of Portugal. The intricately carved wooden bookshelves, stained glass skylight and grand chandelier create an atmosphere of regal wonder. Its vibrant blue facade adorned with Portuguese royal symbols showcases its historical significance.
