Located just two blocks from Victoria, B.C.’s Inner Harbour and Provincial Legislative buildings, Parkside Victoria Resort & Spa's home is designed, built and furnished with sustainable development in mind. It is Canada's first resort hotel built to LEED® (
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum Certification standards --North America's green building rating system. The green theme is carried through every detail of the hotel, from the low-emitting, non-toxic and recycled materials used for fabrics, furnishings and decor to the water-saving plumbing fixtures and hardwood from sustainably harvested forests.
Opened in June 2010, the Parkside Victoria urban resort won several Canadian Home Builders Association 2010 CARE Awards including Best Interior – Commercial. It’s easy to see why: The grey, charcoal and earth tone palette throughout the hotel helps bring the beauty of the West Coast outdoors inside.
What we love
Parkside Victoria Resort & Spa features a 25-metre indoor pool, rooftop gardens, designer furnishings, gourmet kitchens and calm, inviting bedrooms. The suites were all designed to be comfortable, functional second homes, and they really feel like home. The mood is peaceful and calm in an environment that feels harmonious with nature.
The atrium
The three-storey glass and green roof atrium, use of rock and stone in and around the building and the interior and exterior water features, bring the "inside out, and the outside in.” The beautiful and diverse plant species that were once housed at the original Crystal Garden were stored and saved off-site while Parkside was built, and are now part of the indoor botanical garden in the resort's stunning atrium.
Spa and pool
All water features throughout the resort are ozonated, including the pool and hot tub. Ozonation reduces the use of chlorine by 90% and is both an environmentally-friendly and healthy alternative to conventional chlorine by-products found in swimming pools. Ozonation helps to reduce indoor chemical and pollutant sources and promotes better drinking water. The AquaTerre Spa is a restful refuge, focused on restoring balance, wellness and beauty.
The suites
Suites at the Parkside Victoria Resort & Spa feature king-size pocket-coil mattresses and Egyptian cotton luxury linens, perfect for guaranteeing sweet dreams. The low-emitting, non-toxic and recycled materials used for fabrics, furnishings and decor mean that you can breathe easy in these rooms. Suites also feature a kitchen ('Convenience' or 'Gourmet', depending on your room) and large LCD TVs, making it easy to call the resort a home away from home.
