Pretty decor pieces
One of Margot Austin's favourite home decor stores is Moving Designz Home & Cottage which recently moved from Summerside to Charlottetown. At the new location you'll find a mix of contemporary furniture and colourful accessories with a beach-meets-glamour vibe. The shop is also HQ for owner Susan Snow's design business, which offers home staging, seasonal decorating and vacation property furnishing. Moving Designz Home & Cottage. Refresher course
Turquoise Shed's petite appointment-only showroom belies the breadth of its offerings. Business partners Carly Martin and Melissa VanToever offer furniture redesign, fabrics, virtual colour consultations and room design. They connect with clients from all over the world through their presence on Etsy, Twitter and Facebook. Turquoise Shed, contact store for pricing. Chic simplicity
The merchandise at Cottage Industry reflects owner Nancy Lopes’s decidedly unfussy take on family living. Shaker-style painted wood furniture looks very fresh alongside contemporary pieces by Canadian-owned Gus Modern. A few Mid-Century Modern classics round out the furniture offerings. On the accessories side, expect to find cheerful toss cushions, dog beds and classic white dinnerware. Cottage Industry, contact store for pricing.
