places to go, people to see: gladstone celebrates 125 years
It might not be on your Facebook feed, but there's a big birthday coming up. That's right, one of the landmarks of Toronto's Queen West neighbourhoods, the
Gladstone Hotel turns 125 this year. Built in 1889 by local architect G. M. Miller, the iconic Romanesque Revival building is the city's oldest continually operational hotel, and to honour this milestone, it's putting on an exhibit called
THEN | NOW | NEXT. On now through October 5, the exhibition celebrates the arts and culture hub's lengthy history as well as its promising future through sensational stories and rare photographs. Make a plan to check it out this weekend, or put it in plan to attend next Thursday to catch the unveiling of a heritage plaque.
