Working from home at least a few days a week has become the norm for many of us. But a lot of standard office chairs are – let’s face it! – too office-y looking. It’s no wonder that this chic little number is causing a social media storm. The Elle Decor Ariana Criss-Cross Office Chair is comfortable and fully adjustable. From its plush, cream upholstered seat to its gold-plated base, it’s tailor-made for spending WFH days in style, and in comfort.

Montreal-based Luminaire Authentik has long been beloved by Canadian designers for its ability to create custom-tailored lighting in just about any configuration. Right now, the future is looking bright thanks to the company’s artistic new Chrome Collection, which uses a mirrored base to reflect and diffuse light from its glass-ball-shaped bulb. The full series comprises three styles in five mirrored finishes, along with (of course!) custom styles on request.

The Jilly Box, from Jillian Harris and Tyler Evans, is celebrating its fifth anniversary with special giveaways and the release of several hard-to-get new sub- scriber spots. The four-times-a-year Jilly Boxes (the Winter Jilly Box is sold out already but the spring box will be unveiled soon) are fun and addictive, and feature a carefully curated selection of products, many from Canadian-owned and women-owned small businesses. All are grouped around a special theme.

Subscriptions are limited each season and often sell out within hours. To become eligible for the Spring 2025 box, sign up for free to become a member of the Insider’s Club; you’ll then be notified if you’re eligible to purchase a seasonal box. When a new box is ready for release, Jillian reveals all in an entertaining video on jillybox.com. Past boxes have featured everything from makeup and skin care to beautifully designed homewares and even jewellery.

Vänt upholstered wall panels are a great way to add a cozy and luxurious finish to a bedroom. The panels are available in either preconfigured layouts or as individual panels, letting you create your own designer-look headboard or accent wall at much less than the cost of custom-made panels. There are a wide range of fabrics, shapes and sizes available, from wool, suede or velvet to sleek leather. The company’s newest offering is a series of panels with elegant scalloped tops, which work together to form a soft yet refined look. We think the wall treatment would be fab for a child’s bedroom, too.

Vänt’s Luxe Upholstered Wall Panels, from $200 for individual packs of 4; preconfigured panels, from $418

Renew by Trinity’s collection of home decor, furnishings, food prep, kitchen accessories and even pet products is made from 100% reclaimed bamboo chopsticks. You probably do if you’ve got wasted space in your cabinetry, cluttered countertops, and, yes, a bad back! Hafele Canada’s appliance lift is designed to be installed inside a cupboard to hold your behemoth stand mixer or other small appliances. Its gas-cylinder-assisted mechanism allows you to bring the appliances up to counter level with just a light touch. Phew! We like the attractive, sturdy maple surface, too.

Shark attacks dirt!

Most of us probably pull our vacuums back and forth when we do the floors, but did you know that most vacuums only work in one direction? That’s just one of the cool things about Shark’s newest cordless: it has a special nozzle that not only works on both the forward and the back strokes but also has dirt-detecting intelligence, cutting post-holiday cleanup time in half.

Jaymar’s new sofa bed with trundle is comfy and stylish by day, but at night, like magic, you can transform it into a spacious, super comfortable queen-size bed. Unlike clunky old-fashioned pullout sofas, its smooth and simple mechanism is a breeze to operate, and the combination of high-density foam cushioning and a top memory foam layer practically guarantee a great night’s sleep. And that’s not all: the integrated chaise lounge is great for stretching out with your feet up for watching TV or reading, and it even has a rear storage compartment for throws, blankets and pillows. A wide variety of colours and fabrics, including leather, are available. Great for condo dwellers who have overnight guests, or families with teens for sleepovers!

If you’re short on closet space, you have a problem: namely, where to hang your hat, your coat, scarf, bag... you get the idea. Euro-style Modernist furniture may not be in your budget right now, but you can bring the look to your front hall with design-forward hooks from European home-hardware maker Viefe. (The company is also loved for its chic handles and other “jewellery” for the home.) Viefe’s newest designs include Graf, finished in a range of materials with a subtle mesh design, and Belt, which resembles a folded leather belt re-created in metal. That’s what we call modern love!

The new Transitional Series of appliances by Signature Kitchen Suite marries high-style contemporary design with leading-edge technology and versatility. Design cues like minimalist stainless-steel exteriors in an elegant matte finish, slimmer handles, and a sleek profile with a minimum of control knobs make these appliances ideal in a Modernist or transitional kitchen. They’re also panel-ready, for a customized look that lets them go “undercover” and blend into a more traditionally styled space. Highlights include a 30-inch Double Wall Oven with Steam-Combi, a 30-inch Combi Wall Oven, and a 30-inch Single Wall Oven with Steam-Combi. All feature advanced cooking modes, Wi-Fi-enabled smart control and Gourmet AI technology. The sleek QuadWash Pro PowerSteam Stainless Steel Dishwasher completes the collection, and has useful features like steam-powered sanitation.

Suite talk

To celebrate the launch of Endy’s new bedroom furniture collection, the company invited three designers – Dani Roche, Abhishek Dekate and Style at Home contributor Samantha Pynn – to each create a dream bedroom. Along with showcasing the new furniture collection, the designer bedrooms feature Endy’s new Plush Mattress and Hybrid Plus Mattress.

We asked Samantha to describe the thinking behind her luxurious bedroom design. “This bedroom is layered with playful patterns and luxe texture,” she says. “The colours are a mix of greens and sky blues – super soothing and nature inspired – which work well with the pale oak fluted nightstands and dressers, and the upholstered bed.”

For colour, depth and pattern, Sam added a large-print curtain in a soothing blue behind the bed. “It’s sound dampening and cozy, and a great way to emphasize the focal point of the room, which is the bed,” she says. “A curtain also works well with the contemporary-style low bed. It’s a mod and clean take on poster beds with fabric.”

Sam says that Endy’s bedroom furniture is the perfect base to build upon. “I love that the collection can be mixed and matched, made modern or more classic, and works with any colour. The pieces also coordinate really well.” Now that really does sound like “suite” dreams.

Endy king-size Mattress, $995; Curve king-size bed, $1,495
