Pantone's 2025 Colour Of The Year Is Here—And It’s Super Cozy
Every December, design experts await the unveiling of Pantone’s colour trends. Next year’s crowning jewel of colour has finally arrived—and it’s the comforting hue we’ve been dreaming of.
Pantone just announced that its 2025 Colour Of The Year is Mocha Mousse (17-1230), an inviting warm brown. This soft coffee shade invokes a sense of quiet luxury and sophisticated comfort.
“For Pantone Colour of the Year 2025, we look to a mellow brown hue whose inherent richness and sensorial and comforting warmth extends further into our desire for comfort, and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others,” said Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute.
This shade is a natural transition from 2024’s Colour Of The Year, Peach Fuzz (13-1023), another soft shade.
Mocha Mousse was also chosen because of its organic hues. The company says that implementing this shade into a space can help you feel more connected to your environment. “We think of these colours as being stable, grounded, and honest, and because of their place in our natural world, we consider them to be timeless,” reads the colour system’s website.

Additionally, Pantone has released several colour palettes with the new shade, including a brown-exclusive range called Relaxed Elegance and a brighter palette—Floral Pathways—with soft pinks and greens.
With its gentle yet noticeable earthy tones, Mocha Mousse is keeping in line with other paint and colour companies’ colour trend forecasting for 2025. These hues are largely natural and organic but have a striking ‘newness’ to them. These relaxing colours pair beautifully on your bedroom walls and ceiling, living room, and in your kitchen.
