Style destination: Los Angeles

A trip to Los Angeles is bound to include a little stargazing (and we’re not talking about the ones twinkling in the sky). Style at Home senior web editor Natalie DiScala shows us her favourite hot spots.

Montage Beverly Hills

If you’re looking for an oasis in the midst of the action, look no further than the Montage Beverly Hills. With a Mediterranean inspired exterior and a courtyard flanked by lush gardens, you’ll feel like you’ve escaped the busy city life. 225 North Canon Dr., montagebeverlyhills.com.

Beverly Wilshire (A Four Seasons Hotel)

The Beverly Wilshire is still known to many adoring fans as the Pretty Woman hotel (13 years after the film’s release), a moniker the hotel happily embraces. Situated at the top of Rodeo Drive, this stylish hotel’s location doesn’t get any better for high-end shopping. Enjoy dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s Cut, designed by Richard Meier, the celebrated architect of the Getty Center in Los Angeles. 9500 Wilshire Blvd., fourseasons.com/beverlywilshire. styledestination-la-polo-lounge.jpg

The Polo Lounge

Long known as a favourite watering hole of many of Hollywood’s elite, the preppy chic Polo Lounge is where powerhouse moviemakers strike deals over dinner. There’s a pretty outdoor terrace for those who prefer to dine alfresco. MENU PICK: The burger is said to be the best in the city, but only you can be the judge of that! 9641 Sunset Blvd., beverlyhillshotel.com.

Sprinkles Cupcakes

Sprinkles Cupcakes first opened in Beverly Hills, two blocks from Rodeo Drive. To date, there are a dozen shops across the U.S., plus (my favourite!) two cupcake ATMs, one of which is located just outside the Beverly Hills store – perfect for late-night cravings when the shop is closed. 9635 South Santa Monica Blvd., sprinkles.com. styledestination-la-schoos-night.jpg

Schoos Night

The flagship location of Schoos Night in West Hollywood should be on any design aficionado’s must-visit list. Inside this eclectic design store, you’ll find an extensive assortment of one-of-a-kind items, some are designed by furniture and lighting designer, painter and sculptor Thomas Schoos, others are part of the store’s collection of art and objets from around the globe. 8275 Santa Monica Blvd., schoos.com. styledestination-la-getty-villa.jpg

Getty Villa
Opened in 1974 by oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, the Getty Villa is situated on a hill that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can wander through the impeccable gardens and enjoy an audio tour of the grounds. 17985 Pacific Coast Hwy., getty.edu.
